The Grand Launch Event

Exciting times ahead for the Institute which was kick-started with our Grand Launch on 26th January 2017. We were honoured to welcome keynote speakers Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, Scottish Government and Professor Jo Beall, Director of Education and Society at the British Council along with Professor Charlie Jeffery, Senior Vice-Principal, University of Edinburgh and Professor Dorothy Miell, Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Edinburgh who provided welcome remarks and introductions.

This event marks the start of an exciting era as the Institute moves forward with its innovative research, develops its first post-graduate teaching course, and delivers a programme of invigorating seminars designed to promote a better understanding of how to bridge the gap between and within diverse global cultures when engaging in political and cultural diplomacy. IICR explores ways for understanding global cultural interactions in areas such as arts, education, sports, and political economy to maximize positive impact, both locally and globally.
